Transfer students are especially welcome at Dean. They make up nearly 11 percent of our student body and come to us from community colleges, other four-year colleges and both small and large universities. Regardless of your background, our faculty and staff create a supportive learning environment that makes Dean an ideal place for transfer students to continue their college education.

Six Reasons Transfer Students Choose Dean:

Personal: Our 16:1 student-teacher ratio ensures that students can get help when they need it. No class at Dean is larger than 45 students and transfer students are assured of their choice of major.

Transfer Credit Flexibility: Dean has a generous transfer credit policy making it easy to earn your college degree without adding time and expense. You can transfer up to 90 credits from other accredited institutions toward a bachelor’s degree and 30 credits towards an associate degree. All MassTransfer Block courses will be accepted for full transfer credit towards the core curriculum at Dean.

Housing: We guarantee on-campus housing - even for transfer students. Living options include traditional residence halls, converted Victorian houses, and fully-furnished apartments.

Value: More than 95 percent of Dean’s B.A. and B.S. graduates complete their degree on time and are either employed or in graduate school within six months. Dean also awards $19 million in scholarships and grants every year.

Support: Dean offers exceptional academic support including peer or faculty tutoring, formal one-on-one academic coaching, assistance with learning differences and help through the writing and math centers.

Flexibility: Choose from nearly three-dozen academic programs or work with an advisor to design your own Liberal Arts and Studies concentration.
