Each year, HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY enrolls more than 500 new transfer students from across the country and around the world. Our Transfer Center takes many steps to ensure that the transfer process goes smoothly, including inviting prospective and accepted students and their families to a Transfer Open House.

Hofstra is the largest private college on Long Island and is internationally ranked and recognized for academic excellence, civic engagement and community service. Our 11,000 students – who come from 46 states and 67 countries -- can choose from 155 undergraduate programs and 170 graduate programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, engineering and applied sciences, communication, education, health professions and human services, honors studies, medicine, nursing, physician assistant studies, and law.

Hofstra has the resources and advantages of a large university, but the atmosphere and personal attention of a small college. Our student-to-faculty ratio is 13 to 1, and our average undergraduate class size is just 21. Our beautiful suburban campus is just a short train ride to New York City, opening the door to prestigious internships and career opportunities – nearly 75 percent of students complete one or more internships.

A college education is perhaps the largest investment you will ever make in your future. At Hofstra, that investment really pays off.
