Campus Location
Marymount Manhattan College has built upon its excellent academic reputation, doubling its full-time enrollment during the past ten years.
The modern 250-seat Theresa Lang Theatre is equipped with an orchestra pit capable of accommodating 40 musicians. MMC is very proud of its Samuel Freeman Science Center which consists of laboratory facilities for Biology, Chemistry and Physics classes. The College’s Theresa Lang Center for Producing, features the latest in digital sound and video technology. The College’s Lowerre Family Terrace is a 5,000-square-foot rooftop garden—complete with a water wall, a deck, and WiFi service that connects the two main campus buildings. The Commons is a two-tiered dining/student lounge that flows out to the Lowerre Family Terrace, offering outdoor dining for MMC students.
The Thomas J. Shanahan Library at MMC is a library/learning center. It contains more than 100,000 volumes in open stacks and maintains an extensive periodical collection. Through the library’s affiliation with the New York Metropolitan Reference and Research Library Agency, MMC faculty members and students have access to the materials of the member libraries. The library also participates in the On-line Computer Library Center (OCLC), a computerized database of the holdings of some 4,000 libraries that is currently being used for cataloging and reference purpose.
