Pratt Institute is one of the leading art, design, and architecture schools in the United States, ranked in the top three to five in the United States for virtually all programs.

Founded in 1887 and located on a 25-acre beautifully landscaped enclosed campus in Brooklyn, NY, Pratt provides students with an outstanding professional education and a traditional residential college experience within the exciting creative environment of one of the top ranked art schools in the US. A generous merit-based scholarship program is available for all eligible transfer students.

The combination of a wide variety of majors, a faculty of practicing professionals that connects students with internships and eventually jobs, and a campus of 26 buildings with six residence halls, multiple dining options, a varsity athletic program, and extraordinary studio facilities makes Pratt the ideal choice for students interested in the creative fields.

Transfer Admissions

Fall: Submit your application by February 1 and all required materials by February 15.

Spring: October 1. International applicants are asked to apply by September 1 if possible.

Pratt accepts transfer applications for undergraduate programs for the spring term although acceptance to the spring term depends on available space and the evaluation of credits and placement. All programs but architecture will accept transfer applicants for spring if students place appropriately for second semester regardless of year.

Pratt accepts transfer applications for spring regardless of your placement (first semester, second semester) for the following majors: construction management, art history, art and design education (for sophomore level only), writing, and critical and visual studies. Pratt will consider for all majors students who place as second semester of any year based on studio credits.
