Shaw University is a private, historically Black university with an educational foundation in the Christian tradition. Shaw's mission is to provide access to quality higher education that prepares students for meaningful careers, responsible citizenship, and lives of purposeful service through academic programs rooted in the liberal arts, professional preparation, and a deep commitment to the spiritual and personal development of each student.
